Whitebarn Lodge, Alderley Edge. A beautiful Arts & Crafts house designed and built in 1926 by an architect and member of the Boddington family.
The client requested a sympathetic and sensitive preservation of the original house whilst upgrading insulation and services connections and distribution. This involved modernising the internal layout of the property to provide open plan living areas. Our client also required state of the art ensuite and family bathrooms with underfloor heating.
Our project management contract for the comprehensive refurbishment included extensive renovations throughout and which extended to significant landscaping of the large gardens, including a flood prevention drainage system.
The original service connections were replaced with full re-wiring and new heating systems and upgraded insulation throughout. The refurbishment included six bedrooms, four high quality large en-suite bathrooms, underfloor heating systems, insulated garage door and dry stone walls.
The internal layout was also reconfigured to suit open plan modern living arrangements. Bespoke hand crafted oak windows, doors and an impressive front porch provided authenticity to the original design.
